Huckabee is the farthest thing from a libertarian, and not a foe of excess taxes/regulation/government growth. When he was governor of Arkansas he presided over a growing state government, not a restrained one. See this link for a factual account of his actions instead of his rhetoric. Huckabee’s actual tax record.

We have to be very careful -politicians are reading the tea leaves and see that Libertarian ideas are gaining ground, and if they can, will try to appeal to us. Fair enough if they actually believe it. In Huckabee’s case, he’d have to explain, denounce and apologize for his behavior as governor to have an ounce of credibility with me.
